Dispatch.IO comes to Twitch streamers' chats. It is one shared bot, "Dispatch.IO", with Twitch's Chat Bot badge, that you authorize on your channel. You set it up from the same website and app as on Discord, Fluxer and Stoat.

For Dispatch.IO, a Twitch channel is a "server": it shows up in your server list with the Twitch logo, and its pages live at /dashboard/guild/twitch/<your channel id>. Its big strength: it connects your live chat to your Discord, Fluxer or Stoat community (roles for your subs, linked channels, live announcements).

Add Dispatch.IO to your channel

  1. Sign in on dispatchio.xyz (with Twitch, or link Twitch to your account from My account › Linked accounts).
  2. In your server list, pick Add Dispatch.IO to my channel. This button replaces "Invite the bot".
  3. Twitch shows the list of permissions requested: accept them all at once. You then land on your channel's page.

Signing in with Twitch and adding the bot are two different things: you can sign in with Twitch without being a streamer, and only the channel's broadcaster can add the bot to it. Your channel's tokens are stored encrypted and refreshed by the bot on its own.

Warning

Permission removed

If you remove Dispatch.IO's permission in Twitch's settings (Connections), the bot leaves your channel and the website sends you a notification. Add it again from your channel's page to bring it back.

Make Dispatch.IO VIP or moderator

Twitch heavily limits a bot without a role on the channel: 1 message per second, and its messages are ignored for an hour if it goes over. As VIP or moderator, it can send up to 100 messages per 30 seconds.

Type in your chat:

text
/vip Dispatch.IO

or /mod Dispatch.IO if you want it to moderate with its own rights too. The "Make Dispatch.IO VIP or moderator" box on your channel's page checks the state and gives you the command to copy.

Even with that role, Dispatch.IO keeps a queue: when the chat gets busy (thank-you messages, linked channels), the least important messages are grouped ("Thanks to Alex, Sam and 3 others") or dropped.

Permissions and limits of small channels

Some features need a Twitch permission, and sometimes a channel status. A feature that is not available stays visible but greyed out, with the reason ("Twitch affiliates only").

FeatureCondition
Bot presence, moderation, filters, follows, raids, announcementsNone
Subscriptions (subs, resubs, gifts), bitsAffiliate or partner channel
Native Twitch pollsAffiliate or partner channel (otherwise: a chat poll with !vote 1)
Channel pointsAffiliate or partner channel. 50 rewards at most; Dispatch.IO only manages the ones it created
Shoutout (!so)During a stream, at most 1 every 2 minutes and 1 per hour for the same channel
Clips (!clip)During a stream

Every permission is asked when the bot is added: there is no permission screen per module.

Chat commands

A command starts with the channel's prefix, ! by default (it can be changed in the channel's configuration). The main ones:

CommandWhoEffect
!rank, !top, !watchtime, !streak, !achievementsEveryoneYour level, the channel's leaderboard, your watch time, your streak, your achievements
!commands, !uptime, !pingEveryoneThe channel's commands, how long the live has run, check the bot answers
!linkEveryoneThe website link to link your Twitch account (sub roles on the server)
!joinEveryoneEnter the running giveaway (keyword can be changed)
!sr <link or search>, !queue, !song, !wrongsongDepends on the settingsSong requests (see below)
!timeout, !ban, !unban, !warn, !purge @nameModeratorsSanctions, kept in the website's history
!permit @nameModeratorsAllows one link for that viewer, once
!so @channelModeratorsNative shoutout
!clipEveryone (1 every 30 s)Clips the live and posts its link
!vote <number>EveryoneVote in a chat poll
!giveaway <minutes> <prize>, !giveaway end, !giveaway rerollModeratorsStart, end or reroll a giveaway from the chat
!poll Question | choice 1 | choice 2 [2m], !poll endModeratorsStart or end a poll

Your custom commands (!discord, !socials…) are created on the website, with the variables {user}, {touser}, {count}, {uptime}, {game}, {title}, {followage} and {random}, a cooldown per command and per viewer, and a required level (everyone, follower, sub, VIP, moderator).

Timers go out every X minutes, only during the stream and only if there were at least Y messages since the last one: the bot never talks in an empty chat.

Overlays in OBS

Overlays are web pages you add to OBS (or Streamlabs) as a browser source:

  1. On your channel's Overlays page, copy the address of the overlay you want: https://dispatchio.xyz/overlay/<token>/<type>.
  2. In OBS: Sources › + › Browser, paste the address, set the size (1920 × 1080 for example). The background is transparent.
  3. Customize colors, font and position on the website: the preview and OBS update live.

Types: alerts (follow, sub, gift, raid, bits, channel point redemption, with an image, a sound and a text per type, and a test button), goal (followers, subs or bits), XP leaderboard, the running giveaway then its winner, song player, latest follower / sub.

Caution

Keep the token secret

The address needs no sign-in: anyone who knows it sees the overlay. If it leaked, regenerate the token on the Overlays page and replace the address in OBS.

Song requests

Your viewers add YouTube tracks with !sr <link or search>. They play in the "song player" overlay in OBS, with the embedded YouTube player: nothing is downloaded or streamed by our servers.

  • !queue shows the queue, !song the current track, !wrongsong removes your last request.
  • For moderators: !skip, !clearsr, !sr on / !sr off.
  • You control the queue from the website and the app: play, pause, skip, reorder, volume.
  • Settings: who can request (everyone, followers, subs, VIP), maximum length, tracks per viewer, queue size, banned words and channels, channel point cost (premium).

A track that refuses embedded playback, is not available in your country or is age-restricted is refused when added, with a message in the chat.

Sub roles and linked channels

Roles for your subs: link your channel to one or more of your Discord, Fluxer or Stoat servers (you must manage both), then pick one role per tier (or one for all), and if you want a role for your VIPs and moderators.

  • A viewer who linked Twitch to their Dispatch.IO account, and the server's platform, gets the role when they subscribe, and loses it when their sub ends. !link gives them the link.
  • A full resync runs every 24 hours, and on demand from the website.
  • Only for affiliate or partner channels (Twitch doesn't share the subs of other channels).

Chatting with your server: the old chat bridge is replaced by linked channels. Your channel's chat can join a group with Discord, Fluxer and Stoat channels (yours or other servers'): the server's messages reach your chat as [Discord] name: message, and your chat's messages reach the server with the Twitch username and profile picture. The live only option links the chat during your streams only.

Note

Existing chat bridges were converted automatically into linked channel groups, with the same settings.

Premium on Twitch

A server offer also covers one Twitch channel: it is its 4th slot, next to one Discord, Fluxer and Stoat server. Pick the channel on the Subscription page of your account or of your channel; like the others, the slot can change at most once every 7 days. Individual offers (XP bonus, profile cards…) also work for your viewers on Twitch.
